Very enjoyable read!
I particularly enjoyed passages such as the magic mushroom experience, the encounters with Pushpa and the time Maria had in the forest, and lots of little snippets of indian life. I've never been to India so this novel was a lovely way of discovering more about it. Setting it in the 70s was inspired, I think the dynamic between the two characters is really interesting. What happens to Franca in the end is quite scary, but convincing. Maria is a lovely girl, and there are lots of funny moments in the book. [...] What I like was the surprises in the book, I thought the girls would go back to Italy and there would end the book but the way the plot goes on made it even more interesting and kept the reader on their toes. I finished the book a few days ago and the feeling of happiness in the book is still with me.
