One of Ugo's affairs had been with a girl who was addicted to heroin; her boyfriend was a junkie too, but Ugo liked her and decided to 'save' her. Unfortunately, after weeks of effort from him and other friends, she and her boyfriend robbed the hospital's pharmacy, were caught and ended up in prison. Maria knew that heroin addiction was strong and annihilated the user's will. From observing those who began to use it, she had learned that it meant the death of the person, as she knew them...................................

From that moment Maria began to look more carefully, noticing details that until then had escaped her attention, she listened to and watched people with keener interest. Now that she was alone she didn't need to compromise on anything. She remembered she had her camera and that would become her travelling companion.............
