The sun came in through the cracks to wake them early and they went out straight away. Behind the hotel were many houses immersed in the woods, near the river that ran through the valley; it was an idyllic place. The people they met smiled easily. They were handsome, with regular features and white teeth. They dressed differently from the rest of the people in India, in a way that was more suited to mountain life............
